Amongst some best tourism places near Islamabad, my recent trip to Mushkpuri top was one of them. Mushkpuri is the second highest hill of Galiyat. It is located in the Hills of Nathiagali in District Abbottabad, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. It is among the highest peak of Galya and is situated near Abbottabad. The trekking of Mushkpuri is almost about 3 hours and you will have to cover the distance of 9452 m which is approximately 2,800 meters above sea level. Being a nature addict and travel enthusiast, trek to Mushkpuri top was the best option for me to experience in Nathiagali. Summer is very hot in Pakistan. So, in order to refresh ourselves and escape from the excruciating heat in summers, autumn is the best time to visit Mushkpuri top.
Mushkpuri Top – A Tour to Remember
This year autumn began on September 23rd. As this trip was arranged in the last week of September, the cool breeze at Nathia Gali filled my lungs with the much-needed fresh air and the calmness of nature. This trip was arranged by Gypsy Traces and Tours, Pakistan’s well-recognized tourism company that provides best transportation services on guided tours in Pakistan. The reason being is that quite often, the trip journey becomes tiresome because of the exhausting transportation services.
But on this trip, the company hired professional drivers who were very cautious in driving and kept us comfortable throughout the journey. Moreover, in order to facilitate the tourists, the company appointed professional tour guides who actively assisted the tourists in keeping up their energy and physical wellbeing during and after the hike to Mushkpuri top. After the scheduled departure from Islamabad, when we reached our destination point at Nathiagali, the company provided food kits to each one of us in order to keep our energy boosted. Hike towards Mushkpuri covers about 4km distance. Throughout the trek, the serenity surrounding the Mushkpuri mountain was very satisfying. After experiencing a tough hike of approximately two hours, the scenic view which I gazed at the Muskpuri top was an amazing and fruitful experience. I instantly felt as if I have regained my energy and as if I was never tired. The green sheath of grass on the Mushkpuri looked like a smooth carpet covered with beautiful daisy flowers and mesmerizing cool breeze.
After enjoying some time at the Mushkpuri top, we were guided back towards our destination point. When we all reached down safely, our long-awaited appetite was gratified with a delicious lunch break, arranged by Gypsy Traces and Tours. - Best time to visit Mushkpuri top is in the morning in order to visualize the scenic nature surrounding this majestic mountain and safely fall back to base before sunset.
- Best season to visit Muskpuri top is during the autumn season.
- In winters the weather becomes very harsh and roads are blocked due to heavy rainfall.
- Before visiting Muskpuri top in winters, it is advisable for the tourists to consider weather conditions and take precautionary measures because the trek becomes slippery and extremely dangerous.
How to visit Mushkpuri Top?
- The total distance from Islamabad to Mushkpuri is 85 km approximately. It takes almost 2.5 hours to reach there.
- Both the Murree GT road or the new expressway can be used to reach Mushkpuri from Islamabad.
