Musa Ka Musalla-4076m


Musa Ka Musalla is the second highest peak in Siran Valley, which is named after the Siran River. Standing at an elevation of 4,080 meters, it marks the junction of the Siran and Kaghan Valleys in the Himalayas. The name “Musa Ka Musalla,” meaning “Moses/ Musa’ Prayer Mat,” is tied to various legends.

The mountain is shaped like a prayer mat, which is how it earned its name. It remains covered in ice throughout the year. The peak is considered a ziarat (Islamic shrine) by locals, as it is believed that a shepherd used to offer his daily prayers there in ancient times. The mountain is surrounded by Khunda (Gali) Peak, which bears a striking resemblance to K2 Peak.

Musa Ka Musalla (Prayer Mat of Moses) is situated between Kaghan and Siran Valleys. This peak is visible from several places in Kaghan Valley. It is a trekking peak and has an approach from both Valleys. On a trek between Kund and Sharan via Shaddal Gali one can climb this flatĀ topĀ mountain.
